NEW JERSEY VS. THE ZUCK

Have you felt painfully addicted to your phone recently, checking instagram stories 20 times a day? You’re not alone.

New Jersey, along with more than 40 states, is suing social media conglomerate Meta, formerly known as Facebook, over alleged detrimental effects of its platforms on young users.

The lawsuit accuses Meta and CEO Mark Zuckerberg of employing "deceptive and manipulative practices on Instagram and Facebook that they knew were harmful."

It alleges that the company intentionally made its platforms addictive to young children for maximum engagement, using features like "infinite scroll" and frequent alerts to keep users engaged.

The complaint also contends that Meta falsely assured the public that some features were safe and appropriate for children.

The lawsuit accuses Meta of violating the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and state statutes, connecting the company's practices to an ongoing mental health crisis affecting young people. The coalition of states is also investigating social media app TikTok for similar conduct.

REAL VOTER FRAUD IN NEW JERSEY📑

With a presidential election coming soon, expect to hear accusations of voter fraud flying around.

It may feel like those past accusations were nothing more than a sore loser being vocal, but in New Jersey, things have been a little different

Dr. Henrilynn Ibezim, a former candidate for mayor of Plainfield, has been criminally charged with election fraud and related crimes.

He allegedly directed a group of associates and campaign volunteers to complete hundreds of false voter registration applications, which were then mailed to Union County election officials.

Ibezim brought a trash bag filled with nearly 1,000 bogus voter registration applications to the post office for mailing. The investigation found that many of the applications had the same handwriting on them.

He subsequently falsely claimed that others had sold the false registration applications to him. Ibezim's political campaign was unsuccessful, and he now faces charges that include election fraud, criminal attempt to commit false registration, tampering with public records, forgery, and hindering apprehension or prosecution.

These charges carry penalties ranging from fines to imprisonment.

The case is being prosecuted by the Office of Public Integrity and Accountability's Corruption Bureau. The defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
